Should Becoming A Teacher After Graduation Be Considered?
Should You Consider Becoming A Teacher After Graduation?
Basically, in a country where there’s little/no employment opportunities, people tend to engage their selves into one business or the other (be it handwork or any business) and might also use their talent creatively to earn a living. But considering the admission process whereby people were given different courses to pursuit in higher institutions aside from their own listed choices due to inability to meet cutoff marks, this problem might keep them wondering if they would secure a job after graduation.

Unemployment
Unemployment is simply defined as the state of being without any work as an educated person for earning one’s livelihood. When an individual doesn’t have a job that provides money, he/she then look for a way out. This unemployment could be as a result of overpopulation, corruption, inadequate power supply, low qualifications, Tribalism and nepotism,Absence of industrialization, e.t.c. which also affect the economic growth.
If you’d love to consider teaching after graduation, you’ve to note these 3:
Know your passion:
What do you have passion for?……… Remember!
Passion is ambition, strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement that is materialized into action to put as much heart, mind, body and soul into something as is possible.
If you didn’t intend/trained to be a teacher, but just want to consider it because of idleness or unemployment, it might seems slightly difficult because you didn’t undergo any training in the college and the teaching process won’t be effective enough.
Teaching as a Gig:
It is nothing to be embarrassed by because, for thousands of graduates are faced with the country economy. So, Since there’s no job opportunity! create one!!.
In Nigeria for example it could be traced from years back that most of the National Youth Service Corps(N.Y.S.C) members are being posted to secondary schools. You’ll see various disciplines/course of study that doesn’t relate to teaching but ideally i think the government is trying to tell that in case you’ve search for job and couldn’t secure one, the service year teaching experience could be of help pending the time a better one comes your way. But mind you, when making teaching job as a gig, It’s advisable to specify the number of months or years you want to use because employers e.g private schools won’t allow absenteeism ; going for other interviews of your area of concentration while teaching.

Pursuing a career as a teacher requires one to continuously build professional knowledge by under going through constant learning in higher institutions.
