Commitment Levels

Regular Contributors are assigned to an ongoing column to appear at a regular interval (2 weeks is most typical, though we will consider other intervals). This type of columnist must commit to writing regularly on the same niche for six to 12 months and must meet deadlines consistently to maintain their assigned spot on the editorial calendar. We prioritize Regular Columnists when editing and seek to publish their pieces on the scheduled publication date. Contributors with a lesser commitment may not have as much visibility as to exactly when their piece will appear.

Ad-Hoc Contributors must provide a minimum of three contributed pieces for standalone features and how-to contents over the course of 2-6 months. Contributors can irregularly submit ideas or already-written content when they have ideas they want to write about, or they can commit to a regular schedule for the duration of their relationship with us.

Special Contributors may contribute on a one-off basis if they have a very unique perspective, can share proprietary research, or wish to comment on a particular important or timely topic.

Editorial Standards

  • Full disclosure of agency/client/partner relationships is required at all times, and our editors reserve the right to remove self-promotional content and links, as well as make significant edits to content and headlines.
  • All accepted contributors must agree to provide original content, with exclusive rights granted to Scholapreneurs for a period of TWO years.
  • If accepted as a contributor, you will receive content creator guidelines and instructions, as well as a formal content creator agreement to execute before any content is published on our properties.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, please fill out the form and we’ll consider your application.

Answers to Your Questions

What topics can I create contents about?

We’re always looking for creative topic ideas that pertain directly to developing and adding values to youths and students, both academically and financially. Make sure to choose specific topics or questions to answer and approach them in a unique way.

How will people know I wrote it?

When you become a Scholapreneurs Content Creator, you’ll be credited as the author for every one of your content and get your own personalized author page. We’ll also include a short bio (around 150 words) and headshot on each of your content.

How long should contents be?

Contents can be anywhere below 1200 words, whatever it takes for you to explain your topic or tell your story.

What is the editing process like?

Once you submit your article, you’ll work directly with a Scholapreneurs editor to make your article stand out. We will usually do one or two rounds of editing.

When will my article be published?

We will work with you on the timing of your article to make sure it gets the most exposure possible. Depending on its relevance and topic, it could be published immediately after the final edits are complete, or a few weeks later.

Can I write more than one article?

Yes!  As long as everything works out with your first article, we welcome you back any time.

Content Creator Guidelines

  • Your article should be at most 1200 words. You can also break longer contents into a multi-part “series”.
  • Please choose a specific question, problem, or topic to write about in your article. Readers appreciate unique approaches to specific topics than more general contents.
  • Remember to keep your article positive, informative, and easy-to-read.
  • For inspiration, take a look at some examples of our most recent contents.
  • Article submissions should be unique (not previously published elsewhere) and written by you.
  • Please proofread your first draft before submitting it. It’s a good idea to have a friend or colleague read over it as well.
  • Please include your bio (around 150 words) and a headshot so we can add them to your article and on your personal author page (click here for an author page example).
  • Don’t worry about including any photos, unless you have images that are specifically relevant to your article. We’ll add a featured image before your article is published.
  • After you submit your article, you’ll work directly with a Scholarpreneurs editor to make your article stand out. We usually do one or two rounds of editing.
  • We will work with you on the timing of your article to make sure it gets the most exposure possible. Depending on its relevance and topic, it could be published immediately after the final edits are complete, or several weeks later.
  • When your article is published, we’ll send it out to our subscribers and post it to our social media channels. We encourage you to share your article on your social media accounts and/or email it to your friends and colleagues as well!
  • And don’t forget to respond to any comments that are submitted after your article is published.
  • All contributors are responsible for the originality and accuracy of their submissions. Any contributor found to be plagiarizing any percentage of his or her content will be subject to an investigation of his or her entire body of work. If found guilty of plagiarism, the offending author will be banned from the community with all content removed. What counts as plagiarism (this list is not exhaustive):
    1. Copying another person’s work and submitting it as your own, word-for-word.
    2. Copying another person’s work and changing some words or phrases.
    3. Copying any part of another person’s work, whether changing words or not.
    4. “Spinning” another person’s work.
    5. Using another person’s idea as your own, including the progression, flow, and main points of a post, examples, images, etc.
    6. Copying content from any website, whether an author is given or not.

You retain ownership rights to the contents you create for Scholarpreneurs. You also have the option to republish your contents in part or full in the future (with credit to the original publishing body), as long as you include a “canonical” link back to the original article. This type of link prevents search engines from penalizing both sites for duplicating content. Please let us know if you wish to republish your content and we will provide you with the appropriate HTML code to include with the republished content
