How To Start A Laundry Business On Low Budget
Starting a laundry business with low budget
Who doesn’t like to wear a neatly washed and ironed outfit? Everyone does! Picture the gale and charismatic look it exudes, but many find it difficult to do get their laundry to the point of ironing. Except they have a washing machine, some can’t even deal with washing not to talk of starching or ironing. Usually, you find this with 9 to 5ers. Don’t even ask me what they do on their weekends. If I were a 9 to 5er, I personally would choose my weekends to clean my house, hangout with friends.
The above paragraph has made the dry cleaning/laundry business a profitable one for anyone to venture into. The demand for dry cleaning/laundry services never runs out.
Below are a few tips on starting a laundry business with a low budget from my own laundry business startup experience.
1. Make a budget on how much you want to invest: There is no amount too small to start your laundry business as low as 50,000 to 100,000 Naira depending on what you have on your disposal.
2. Make a business plan or proposal: Many people start a business with a plan of knowing how much they need to invest and how much they will make. Google “Business plans on Laundry” for tips.
3. Get a training or learn the skills and technical aspect of the business: As much as important your business plan is, so is getting trained, because of the things you think you know that you don’t have idea of. The technicality of handling sales and where to get consumables you need to keep your business running also needs to be understood.
4. Decide on location: Depending on your budget, if you can afford to get an office/shop if not start from your house and that can save your rent and as you grow you can move to a better place. I started in my room.
5. Marketing and advert: To make head way with your business, you need to tell people around you, and make a very good/attractive flyer. Take advantage of social media platform you are and inform people too.
6. Get equipment and consumables needed: These are major equipment you need and some you can find alternative to in case you are starting with a low budget. Industrial Iron, Table, Washing machine, Generator, Chair, Buckets, Starch, Soap, Hanger. etc.
Laundry business remains one of the best small business you can venture into regardless of who you are – student, graduate, unemployed, or even employed. With the right marketing skills and quality services, you will grow your customer base between six months and a year. Entrepreneurs will forever be profitable in it.
